Seminar days at Steinbacher Energie
On 10 and 11 February, in cooperation with the company TE Connectivity Training for medium-voltage cable fitters in the 12 - 36 kV and 250 - 1,250 A range at Steinbacher Energie was held at the Hollenstein/Ybbs site.
The aim of the event was to give the participating specialists from top Austrian companies in the field of technical construction and installation services and infrastructure a comprehensive insight into the theoretical and practical basics of the structure, functionality and processing of cable accessories.
Theory and practice clearly linked
In the theoretical part of the seminar, Rüdiger Rössler, Product Manager for Europe in the Application Technology division of Tyco products for medium and high voltage (MV), explained the physical properties of the materials used and, among other things, what is important when selecting components and fittings.
In addition, the structure and use of power cables were covered in detail. Special emphasis was placed on RAYCHEM cable accessories, terminals and surge arresters.
The practical part of the seminar offered participants the opportunity to practise handling and processing various cable accessories directly. The individual work steps as well as the connections and functions of the respective components were explained in a practical manner.
Lots of expertise and interest in tool solutions
The intensive technical dialogue and questions from the fitters present created a lively atmosphere. The additional tools presented by Steinbacher's sales organisation, including those from Intercable, also met with great interest.
